Situational Assessment

A situational assessment includes an extensive functional assessment, which incorporates a review of medical documentation, an in-depth interview, objective evaluation as well as observations of the individual performing functional tasks in the home, community and/or workplace. The individual is observed participating in specific situations relevant to their daily lives that demonstrate the physical, cognitive and emotional barriers impacting their participation in activities of daily living.  Consultation with family members and/or members of a treatment team is completed to provide collateral information.
